President Droupadi Murmu to Award Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar on January 22
Guwahati, 19th January: President Droupadi Murmu will honor a group of exceptional young individuals with the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar (PMRBP) at a ceremony at Vigyan Bhawan. This prestigious accolade will recognize 19 children for their outstanding talent and achievements in categories such as Art and Culture, Bravery, Innovation, Science & Technology, Social Service, and Sports.
Among the awardees is Rohan Ramchandra Bahir, acknowledged for his exceptional courage in saving a woman’s life by jumping into a river. Another notable recipient is Aditya Pratap Singh Chauhan, recognized for his innovative contribution to environmental conservation with ‘MICROPA,’ a technology designed to detect and filter micro-plastics from drinking water.
Conferred upon children aged 5 to 18 years, the PMRBP awards aim to acknowledge excellence in seven distinct fields. Each awardee will receive a medal and certificate for their exceptional accomplishments. The Ministry of Women and Child Development took extensive measures to increase nominations, keeping the National Award Portal open from May 9, 2023, to September 15, 2023.
The selection process involved rigorous verification through multiple layers, including District Magistrates and domain experts, followed by evaluation by National Level Independent Experts. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to interact with the awardees on January 23, emphasizing the significance of their achievements and encouraging youth excellence in India.
