President Ram Nath Kovind to come on a three day visit to Assam

Guwahati: President of India Ram Nath Kovind will come on a three-day visit to Assam from February 25-28.

The state Cabinet approved the programme schedule of the President during his visit to the state.

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, speaking to the media after the Cabinet meeting on Sunday stated, “On February 25, the President will lay the foundation stone for the Battle of Alaboi (a fight between Mughals and Ahoms) war memorial at Dadara in the Kamrup district.

He will lay the groundwork for the renovation of Lachit Barphukan’s samadhi in Jorhat on this day. He will attend Tezpur Central University’s convocation on February 26.

It may be mentioned that in the evening of February 26, he will examine the state government’s conservation efforts at Kaziranga National Park.”
