Guwahati: President of India Droupadi Murmu paid tribute to the late physician on the occasion of Babasaheb Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s passing on Tuesday.
The president paid floral tributes at the Parliament House Lawns in New Delhi.
Dr Ambedkar is known as the father of the constitution. He oversaw the commitee drafting the Constitution of India.
He also served as Minister of Law and Justice in former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru’s first cabinet.
He was presented with the Bharat Ratna posthumously in 1990.
The father of the constitution passed away on December 6, 1956.
