Prime Accused in Child’s Murder Arrested in Sivasagar
Guwahati: The prime accused Aditi Dutta has been taken into custody by the Sivasagar Police on Friday in connection with the killing of a 5-year-old girl in the Nahorali Khonikar village in Assam’s Sivasagar district.
Ritusmita Dutta’s mother is the accused Aditi Dutta.
Aditi Dutta is a resident of Nomati in Nazira town.
According to reports, the accused Ritusmita Dutta deceived the police by fabricating a false identity and address for both the deceased and herself. The deceased child Dimpi Munda was referred to as Bhanu Bhumij, and she introduced herself as Parishmita Dutta.
The deceased child’s final rites were carried out after her post-mortem reports were released today.
It should be noted that Bhanu Bhumij was employed as a domestic helper in the home of Bitupon Dhekial Phukan and Ritusmita Dutta.
The couple had taken the child from a household in Jorhat’s Titabor with the promise of taking on the burden of caring for the child’s education.
Locals claim that the youngster was physically attacked by the parents when she refused to perform household duties in place of sending her to school.
The pair beat the youngster on Wednesday, leaving him or her with severe injuries. She was admitted to the Sivasagar Civil Hospital in critical condition late at night, when the medical staff pronounced her dead.
