Prime Accused of Ranjit Bora Murder Case Sent to 7-Day Judicial Custody

Guwahati: The prime accused named Shah Alam Talukdar of Guwahati businessman Ranjit Bora’s has been sent in seven-day police custody on Monday.

Shah Alam Talukdar was the mastermind of the six-member gang who was responsible planning and plotting the murder of the Guwahati businessman.

A Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been established to look into Ranjit Bora’s slaying. The Guwahati police have been conducting extensive search drives to nab all accused.

The criminals were allegedly closely monitoring Bora’s daily schedule for at least three weeks before to his death, according to the police. The six-member gang was accused by the authorities of committing numerous horrifying crimes in the past.

On Sunday, a number of details pertaining to earlier crimes in which Alam had participated had come to light. According to reports, Shah Alam had illegally occupied the building of an elderly couple for running a school named Excel Academy in Panjabari of Guwahati.

With regard to this, he had an 11-month contract in place with the elderly couple. The contract was really signed in 2019. Alam has to pay an amount of Rs 13 lakhs to the owner of the house.

It should be noted that on November 21, two bike-riding criminals rode up and opened fire on him in the Panjabari area in broad daylight before fleeing with the cash as manager of the local dairy company Purabi Dairy Ranjit Bora was on his way to the bank to deposit money.

Bora passed away from his wounds after being taken to the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH).
