Prime Minister and President Congratulate Shooter Manu Bhaker on Historic Olympic Bronze

Sports, July 28, 2024 Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Droupadi Murmu have extended their heartfelt congratulations to shooter Manu Bhaker for her historic achievement at the Paris Olympics 2024. Bhaker’s bronze medal in the women’s individual 10m air pistol event marks a significant milestone, being India’s first medal of the Games and the first-ever Olympic medal in shooting won by an Indian woman.

Prime Minister Modi expressed his admiration on X (formerly Twitter), stating, “A historic medal! Well done Manu Bhaker, for winning India’s FIRST medal at #ParisOlympics2024! Congrats for the Bronze. This success is even more special as she becomes the 1st woman to win a medal in shooting for India. An incredible achievement!”

President Murmu also commended Bhaker’s remarkable accomplishment, highlighting the inspiration her victory brings to aspiring athletes across the nation.
