Prime Minister Modi Highlights Efforts in Manipur and Northeast Achievements in Rajya Sabha Address

Northeast Desk, 3rd July: Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the Rajya Sabha, emphasizing the government’s commitment to restoring normalcy in Manipur. He noted that incidents of violence are on the decline, with over 500 arrests and more than 11,000 FIRs filed, reflecting significant progress.

Modi praised the government’s accomplishments in the Northeast over the past five years, suggesting that these achievements would have taken the Congress two decades to realize.

Regarding the recent election results, Modi pointed to the positive reactions in the capital markets and globally, indicating a general atmosphere of satisfaction. He questioned the Congress party’s apparent celebration despite their losses, suggesting their joy might stem from a pattern of electoral defeats.

Modi also criticized the Congress party’s treatment of Dalit and backward communities, accusing them of using these individuals as scapegoats in elections they were likely to lose. He cited the fielding of Dalit candidates in the 2017 and 2022 presidential and vice-presidential elections as examples. Modi mentioned the treatment of former President Ram Nath Kovind and the current President, a tribal woman, asserting that Congress has consistently demonstrated an anti-SC/ST/OBC mindset and has humiliated these leaders.
