Prime Suspect in Ranikunj Market Shooting Injured While Evading Arrest in Assam
Assam: A notorious criminal, Nur Kalam, was shot in the right thigh while attempting to escape police custody during a weapon recovery operation in Paikanadara Second Block village, Bilasipara, Assam.
Kalam, the prime suspect in the November 26 shooting at Ranikunj Market, was confronted by police when he tried to flee. Officers opened fire during the chase, injuring Kalam. He was initially treated at Bilasipara Adarsha Hospital and later transferred to Dhubri Medical College for further medical care.
Kalam, a resident of Goalpara district, is accused of being involved in a shooting incident at an SBI customer service center in Ranikunj Market. Along with two armed accomplices, he reportedly opened fire indiscriminately, leaving three people critically injured.
The police operation aims to recover concealed weapons linked to the attack, as investigations continue to uncover further details of the criminal network.
