Priyanka Gandhi Vadra Expresses Deep Concern Over Devastating Assam Floods

Guwahati, 7th July: Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Congress leader and sister of Rahul Gandhi, has expressed profound concern over the severe floods causing havoc in Assam. She expressed sorrow over the loss of lives and widespread displacement, with thousands seeking refuge in relief camps across the state.

“The news of large scale loss of lives due to floods in Assam is very sad. Lakhs of people are living in relief camps due to the worsening situation. A large number of animals have also died in Kaziranga and many are injured. Our thoughts are with the people of Assam,” remarked Priyanka Gandhi Vadra.

She urged Congress leaders and workers to actively participate in relief and rescue operations to assist those affected. Stressing the urgency, she appealed to both state and central governments to provide all possible support to alleviate the suffering caused by the floods.

Meanwhile, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi also expressed concern over the flood situation in Assam. In a Twitter post, he stated, “The flood situation in Assam is becoming increasingly dangerous. My thoughts are with our brothers and sisters reeling under the deluge. Deepest condolences to the bereaved families. I appeal to Congress leaders and workers to provide help in rescue and rehabilitation operations.”

According to an official bulletin, the flood situation in Assam remains critical with six more fatalities reported and nearly 24 lakh people affected.
