Prominent Folklorist Dr. Prabin Chandra Das Passes Away
Guwahati: Eminent folklorist and scholar Dr. Prabin Chandra Das, who was a resident of Guwahati, passed away late last night.
According to reports, Dr. Das suffered a cerebral stroke and spent a significant amount of time bedridden.
The renowned author had been undergoing treatment at Health City Hospital in Guwahati , Khanapara. At 1:30 a.m. last night, he took his last breath in the hospital.
It may be noted that the eminent personality was a former professor at department of folklore research at Gauhati University.
The folklorist’s writings are likewise well-known. Bon Birinar Sat, Boxontar Bauli Bukusat, Seuj Monor Din, and Xomaj Xahitya Xangskriti are some of his well-known works. The latter was translated into English and is titled Society Literature Culture.
