Protest Against CAA and Demand for ILP Implementation in Guwahati

Guwahati, 29th January: The Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuba Chatra Parishad (AJYCP) and various organizations staged a protest in Guwahati’s Chachal, on Monday, protesting against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA) and advocating for the implementation of the Inner Line Permit (ILP) system in Assam.

Hundreds of AJYCP members, along with representatives from various organizations, displayed placards and banners while chanting slogans against the Himanta Biswa Sarma government and the Central government. Their demands include the scrapping of the CAA, and they pledged to escalate their movement against it in the days to come.

An AJYCP leader emphasized the organization’s steadfast demands and declared that their movement would persist until the central government withdraws the CAA. Additionally, AJYCP, joined by various student organizations in Assam and others, pressed for the swift issuance of the Inner Line Permit (ILP).
