Pugilists Lovlina Borgohain, Ankushita Boro Bag Gold at 36th National Games
Guwahati: Assam athletes excel on the final day of the 36th National Games conducted in Gujarat.
The state’s Ace pugilist Lovlina Borgohain won the gold medal by defeating Swati from Haryana.
K A Indraja of Kerala was the opponent in Lovlina’s quarterfinal match, and Lovlina prevailed with a resounding 5-0 victory. She competed in the 70-75 kilogramme weight division.
Meanwhile, pugilist Ankushita Boro also earned a gold medal at the National Games.
She earned the medal by outdueling Manipur’s Alena Thounaojam in the 66 kg welterweight division.
It should be noted that today marked the conclusion of Gujarat’s 36th National Games.
