Punjab Shiv Sena leader Sudhir Suri shot dead in Amritsar; Accused Held

Guwahati: Shiv Sena leader Sudhir Suri was brutally shot dead by unidentified assailants outside a shrine in Amritsar of Punjab on Friday.

According to reports, Suri along with few others were protesting outside the temple when he was shot and killed.

Locals claim that the mystery shooters fired at least five bullets.

The attacker was quickly taken into custody; the police did not reveal any details.

The attack’s pistol was promptly seized.

While the person shot five rounds, two hit him and he died before he could be taken to the hospital.

It should be noted that Suri had a history of controversy and was the subject of multiple legal actions for his casteist and religious remarks.
