Queen Elizabeth II Passes Away at 96
Queen Elizabeth II, the monarch with the longest reign in Britain, passed away at the age of 96, on Thursday.
After queen’s death, her son Charles will be the new monarch. However, the coronation will not take place for months.
Elizabeth II, who ascended to the throne in 1952, ruled for 70 years. 15 prime ministers served during her reign, including Liz Truss, who was chosen by the Queen earlier this week and was born 101 years after Winston Churchill in 1975.
