Rahul Gandhi: BJP and RSS Consider MNF an Entry Point into Mizoram
Northeast, 17th October: In a public gathering in Mizoram’s Lunglei district, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi made a striking statement, comparing votes for the Mizo National Front (MNF) or Zoram People’s Movement (ZPM) to voting for the BJP.
Gandhi emphasized that the BJP is well aware that if either of these parties comes to power in Mizoram, it provides an opportunity for the BJP’s agenda to persist in the state.
Addressing the gathering, Rahul Gandhi stressed that the BJP operates with a long-term perspective, and therefore, casting a vote for the MNF is essentially a vote for the BJP, as these parties are likely to collaborate with the saffron party.
He went on to express the BJP’s contentment with the victory of any party in the state that allows them to further their objectives, even if it means undermining the local culture, religion, and traditions.
This statement comes as part of Rahul Gandhi’s three-day visit to Mizoram, where he is campaigning for the Congress party’s candidates in the upcoming Assembly polls scheduled for November 7.
His visit has included a padayatra to the Raj Bhawan, followed by a fiery speech criticizing the ruling BJP near the governor’s house.
