Rahul Gandhi Criticizes BJP, Highlights Importance of Constitutional Values at Dallas Event

National Desk, 9th September: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, speaking at an Indian diaspora event in Dallas, stated that no one in India fears the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) or Prime Minister Narendra Modi following the Lok Sabha election results. He emphasized that the Indian public has rejected the ruling party’s alleged attacks on India’s Constitution, traditions, and religious diversity.

Comparing the ideologies of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and Congress, Gandhi asserted that while the RSS believes in a singular idea of India, Congress upholds the nation’s multiplicity of ideas. “We believe in giving everyone space, regardless of caste, language, religion, tradition, or history,” he said.

Drawing parallels with the United States, Gandhi expressed that Congress values inclusivity and participation, saying, “We believe that everybody should be allowed to dream.”

He also spoke about the symbolic significance of ‘Abhayamudra,’ a gesture of fearlessness present in Indian religions. Gandhi claimed that the BJP struggled to understand this concept, noting its importance in the fight for democracy.

Gandhi praised the Indian people for their democratic spirit and rejection of the BJP’s perceived attacks on the Constitution. “The fear of the BJP vanished after the election results, and this is a huge achievement for the people of India, not for the Congress party.”

Addressing the Indian diaspora, he acknowledged their role as a bridge between India and the US, encouraging them to uphold the values of humility, respect, and love as they contribute to both nations.
