Rahul Gandhi Criticizes PM Modi, Highlights Infrastructure Neglect in Nagaland

Northeast Desk, 17th January: During the Congress’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra in Nagaland, Rahul Gandhi directed a scathing critique at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, accusing him of neglecting the northeastern states. Gandhi, addressing a public rally, questioned Modi’s development claims and highlighted the poor state of infrastructure in Nagaland.

Directly addressing Prime Minister Modi, Gandhi challenged the credibility of development assertions, stating, “Your tall claims of development demand firsthand experience. Have you braved the broken roads that Nagaland’s people navigate daily?” Expressing concern over the condition of roads in Nagaland, he labeled it as an injustice and betrayal to the people.

“For the people of Nagaland to have to drive through these roads is an injustice. It is a betrayal of the people of Nagaland. How are we expected to bring a positive future to the young people of Nagaland with these roads?” Gandhi emphasized during the rally.

On January 16, the Congress leader stressed the importance of ensuring that the people of Nagaland feel equal to their counterparts from larger states. The Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra aims to bring justice, making politics, society, and the economic structure more equal and accessible to everyone. The yatra, covering 15 states, is set to conclude in Maharashtra on March 20.
