Rahul Gandhi Delivers Powerful Speech in Lok Sabha, Criticizes Government’s Handling of Manipur Situation
National Desk, 9th August: Rahul Gandhi, a Member of Parliament from Wayanad, delivered a highly anticipated speech in the Lok Sabha during the discussion on the no-confidence motion. Starting at 12:10 pm on Wednesday, he expressed gratitude to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla for reinstating his membership and apologized for his previous speech in which he mentioned Adani.
This marked Rahul Gandhi’s first speech since regaining his Lok Sabha membership, following the Supreme Court’s stay of his conviction in the 2019 Modi surname case.
In his speech, he strongly criticized the government’s handling of the situation in Manipur, stating, “You have killed Mother India in Manipur. My one mom is sitting here and the other mother has been killed in Manipur.” Rahul Gandhi emphasized the urgency of using the Indian Army to bring peace to Manipur quickly, questioning the government’s approach. He also questioned whose voice Prime Minister Narendra Modi listens to if he isn’t attuned to the heart of India.
Rahul Gandhi’s speech highlighted key issues and concerns, adding to the ongoing parliamentary debate on the no-confidence motion against the government.
