Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra enters into Assam, takes over flag from Nagaland
Guwahati, 18th January: The Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, which commenced in Manipur on January 14, reached a significant milestone as it departed from the vicinity of the Tuli post office in Nagaland at 8 am. Covering approximately 1.5 kilometers within Nagaland, the yatra crossed into Assam at 9.30 am, marked by a formal ‘flag handover’ at the interstate border.
The day’s agenda featured a morning break at Puthinadi, Jorhat, along with a media interaction led by Jairam Ramesh. The yatra resumed from Nakachari Debarapara, Jorhat, and continued from Lahoty Petrol Pump in Jorhat Town to Nehru Park Cheriyali Jorhat, culminating in a public address. The night halt was scheduled at Kumar Gaon, Nimati Road Jorhat.
With an anticipated travel distance of 833 km in Assam, Rahul Gandhi is set to conclude the yatra in the state on January 25, 2024. The Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra aims to address national issues such as unemployment, price rise, and social justice, covering an extensive route through 15 states over a period of 67 days.
