Rahul Gandhi’s Health Issue Disrupts ‘Ulgulan Rally’
National Desk, 21st April: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, who was slated to headline the ‘Ulgulan Rally’ organized by the INDIA bloc in Satna and Ranchi, had to cancel his appearances due to sudden illness, as confirmed by Congress leader Jairam Ramesh.
“Rahul Gandhi was supposed to lead the campaign in Satna and Ranchi today for the INDIA rally but has fallen ill and is unable to depart from New Delhi at this time,” stated Jairam Ramesh on X.
In Rahul Gandhi’s absence, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge will address the gathering in Satna before joining the Ranchi rally.
Meanwhile, PM Sudhakaran, the general secretary of the Wayanad District Congress Committee, created ripples by resigning from the party and crossing over to the BJP. Sudhakaran cited issues with Rahul Gandhi’s accessibility, among other reasons, for his switch in allegiance.
“I am aligning with the BJP due to my admiration for Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his developmental policies. The BJP holds more relevance in today’s society,” remarked Sudhakaran during his formal induction into the BJP at the election Committee office in Kalpetta, Kerala.
The ‘Ulgulan Rally’ in Ranchi, amidst the ongoing Lok Sabha polls, aims to spotlight the detention of ex-Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren and AAP’s Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, pivotal figures of the INDIA bloc, currently held in judicial custody.
Congress MP Syed Naseer Hussain underlined the rally’s significance as a beginning in the battle against what he termed as “fascist forces.” Leaders such as Mallikarjun Kharge, Tejashwi Yadav, Akhilesh Yadav, and others are expected to participate, demanding accountability and laying out a roadmap for the future.
Ahead of the event at Prabhat Tara Ground in Ranchi, posters featuring prominent leaders from the INDIA bloc, including Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, Arvind Kejriwal, Mamata Banerjee, Hemant Soren, were prominently displayed.
Notably, Samajwadi Party National President Akhilesh Yadav and other prominent leaders are also slated to join the ‘Nyay Ulgulan Rally.’
