‘Raid 2’ Set for Grand Netflix Premiere Tomorrow

Entertainment: The much-anticipated thriller, ‘Raid 2’, is all geared up for its digital premiere on Netflix, hitting screens from June 26, 2025. This sequel to the successful 2018 film ‘Raid’ has already made a significant splash at the box office, raking in a staggering ₹157.88 crore during its theatrical run.

Directed by Raj Kumar Gupta, ‘Raid 2’ plunges audiences back into the world of Indian Revenue Service officer Amay Patnaik, portrayed by the ever-reliable Ajay Devgn. This time, Patnaik faces a formidable new challenge in the form of Dada Manohar Bhai, a powerful character brought to life by Riteish Deshmukh. The film, a joint production by Panorama Studios and T-Series, also features Vaani Kapoor in a pivotal role, with Saurabh Shukla making a special appearance, reprising his beloved character Tauji from the original.

Netflix officially confirmed the digital release with an enthusiastic Instagram post that read, “Aaj se ulti ginti shuru. Amay Patnaik is back with a new case and the same old fire. Watch Raid 2, out 26 June, on Netflix.” The film is expected to deliver the same gripping intensity and dramatic flair that made its predecessor a hit, while also introducing fresh twists to the storyline.

Upon its theatrical release on May 1, 2025, ‘Raid 2’ garnered a mix of reviews. India Today.in’s review, for instance, praised the franchise for its engaging nature, stating, “An intense drama like ‘Raid’ is a perfect recipe for an engaging film. Driven by Ajay Devgn, the franchise is both gripping and intriguing.” However, it also noted a shift in the protagonist’s portrayal in the sequel: “In ‘Raid 2’, the new film in the franchise, Devgn reprises the role of a no-nonsense, honest income tax officer, Amay Patnaik. But this time, we don’t see enough of Patnaik – we see a brooding Ajay Devgn.” Despite the varied critical reception, the film’s commercial success underscores its ability to connect with audiences, offering a compelling blend of action and suspense. As ‘Raid 2’ now prepares for its worldwide digital debut, viewers can look forward to experiencing the next thrilling chapter in Amay Patnaik’s relentless pursuit of justice.
