Raj Bhavan Sikkim Celebrates Foundation Day of States and UTs, Embraces “Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat”

Gangtok– Raj Bhavan in Sikkim commemorated the foundation day of several states and union territories, including Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Punjab, and Madhya Pradesh, in a spirited celebration embodying the theme “Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat.” The event was attended by JD Bhutia, Secretary to the Governor, who underscored the unique cultural heritage of each state as pillars of India’s unity.

The program commenced with a welcome address by the Deputy Secretary, followed by a video message from the Governor of Madhya Pradesh, Mangubhai C Patel, highlighting the state’s natural splendor and rich cultural legacy. JD Bhutia presented traditional Khadas to esteemed guests, including ITBP Commandant Pankaj Kumar Bhagat from Chhattisgarh and Deputy Commandant Lakhvinder Singh from Punjab. Both shared reflections on the contributions of their respective states to India’s growth and resilience.

In his address, Bhutia spoke on the cultural significance of each state and their contributions towards the vision of a “Viksit Bharat” by 2047. Extending Laxmi Puja and Tse Chi greetings, he conveyed warm wishes from Sikkim’s Governor, underscoring the importance of unity in diversity as a guiding principle for India.

The celebration concluded with a vibrant cultural performance by Raj Bhavan staff, celebrating India’s heritage and promoting a sense of collective identity. Attendees, including ITBP officials, distinguished guests, and Raj Bhavan staff, participated in the festivities, reaffirming India’s commitment to unity amid diversity.
