Rajasthan Shocker! Tribal Woman Beaten, Paraded Naked By In-Laws & Husband In Pratapgarh
National Desk, 2nd September: A tribal woman in Rajasthan’s Pratapgarh district is said to have been beaten and paraded naked by her husband and in-laws in yet another case of violence against women, and a video of the incident has gone viral on social media.
The horrific incident reportedly occurred on Thursday at the Pahada Gram Panchayat’s Nichalkota village inside the boundaries of the Dhariyavad police station.
“On Friday night, the police learned about the situation after a video of the incident appeared online. Director General of Police (DGP) Umesh Mishra reported that shortly after, the district superintendent of police, the inspector general of police, and the SHO of the involved police station all arrived at the village.
The victim, who had been married a year earlier, is said to have moved in with another guy in the area.
Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot condemned the incident and promised that those responsible “will be put behind bars as soon as possible.”
The woman’s in-laws committed this horrible crime, the DGP added after providing more information about the incident. She was abducted by them and brought to their village, where the crime occurred. They were miffed that she left the marriage and moved elsewhere.
The DGP claimed that after the woman was abducted, her husband beat her, stripped her, and paraded her through the hamlet for almost a kilometer.
Furthermore, he said that “some of the women from her in-law’s side were also seen involved in the incident and that all the persons accused in the matter would be arrested soon.”
Mishra added that CM Gehlot has also issued directions to take strong action against the suspect in the incident and that the accused in the case would be nabbed shortly.
Reacting to the incident Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot took to platform ‘X’ and said, “In Pratapgarh district, a video of a woman being stripped naked by her in-laws has surfaced amid a family dispute between her family and her in-laws.”
“The Director General of Police has been instructed to send ADG Crime on the spot and take strict action in this matter. There is no place for such criminals in a civilized society. These criminals will be put behind bars as soon as possible and punished after being prosecuted in a fast-track court,” the CM added on ‘X’.
