National Desk, 2nd September: Actor Ranganathan Madhavan, famous for his roles in blockbuster films such as ‘3 Idiots,’ ‘Tanu Weds Manu,’ and ‘Rang De Basanti,’ has assumed the role of President of the FTII Society and Chairperson of the Governing Council. This appointment follows the conclusion of Shekhar Kapur’s tenure on March 3, 2023.
The FTII registrar, Sayyid Rabeehashmi, officially confirmed the decision, stating, “Mr. R. Madhavan has been appointed the President of FTII Society and Chairman of the Governing Council. The decision has been formally conveyed to us by the Ministry.”
Madhavan, an accomplished actor, recently made his directorial debut with “Rocketry: The Nambi Effect,” which received the Best Feature Film Award at the 69th National Awards ceremony held last week. He co-wrote and co-starred in the film alongside Rahul Pandey and Anant Mahadevan.
