Ranoj Pegu: Assam Govt Working on 1 Lakh Recruitment Process

Guwahati: Assam Education Minister Ranoj Pegu stated on Tuesday that the government is accelerating the hiring process to fill more than one lakh vacancies.

The minister said that teachers with grace marks would be appointed during a news conference.

He declared, “Barriers would be removed even if the court matter is still pending. The decision has been made to hire college teachers and TET graduates.

Major appointments will be made again on September 23 and as many as 4,717 teachers will be given appointment letters.

“As per the court order, 298 selected TET exam candidates will receive appointments, and shortly education department white paper will be published,” the minister declared.

He added that since 2011, the education department has experienced significant changes and that work is also being done to strengthen the infrastructure.

Meanwhile, Minister Pegu stated that Victor Das had been suspended in accordance with the law.

“According to rules, if a person stays in police custody for 48 hours, then he/she is subjected to be suspended. Department investigation will be done against Victor Das,” he said.

Notably, the Office of the District Elementary Education, Kamrup, in a notification stated that Victor Das has been placed under suspension considering the report of Head teacher of Panitema Radha Krishna Jugal Milan L.P. School with immediate effect.

Victor Das was arrested by the Assam police on September 9 on suspicion of spreading false information about a “scam” in the hiring process for more than 26,000 open positions in several departments, but the Gauhati high court had already granted interim release to Das till September 29.
