Ranoj Pegu: Summer Vacations To Be Reduced To 25 Days In Assam

Guwahati: Assam education minister Ranoj Pegu on Friday informed that the department was considering shortening the summer break.

Pegu announced today that the length of the state’s summer break may be shortened to 25 days starting in the following year.

The government’s Gunotsav initiative has also been suspended in nine Assam districts, according to the education minister.

Pegu was notified that the choice had been made in light of the flooding situation in the state.

It should be mentioned that the Gunotsav is a state government project that primarily focuses on the evaluation of children’s learning outcomes in order to discover any gaps in their knowledge and then develop corrective actions.

He also announced that the Assam common admission exams (CEE), which were originally slated to take place on July 3, would now be held on July 31 in light of the state’s destruction from floods and landslides.

Moreover, formal classes will continue during summer vacations in schools in several districts of Assam.

The decision was taken by the school inspectors of the districts.

Education will be provided in institutions that struggled in the most recent high school graduation certificate (HSLC) exams, the results of which were released on June 7.

Classes will be held for standards nine and up through 12 in schools that performed poorly.

The districts of Assam where classes will be held during summer vacation are Golaghat, Chirang and Tinsukia.
