Sikkim: Ravangla in Namchi District is preparing to host a six-day grand event, the Discover Ravangla State Level Cho-Dzo Festival 2025, celebrating Sikkim’s rich cultural heritage, natural beauty, and sports spirit. This festival holds special significance as it coincides with Sikkim’s 50th year of statehood.
The festival, scheduled to take place from 11 to 16 April 2025, aims to attract visitors from across the state and beyond, boosting tourism in the region. To ensure a smooth execution, Tourism and Civil Aviation Minister Tshering T. Bhutia visited the festival venue to review ongoing preparations.
Minister Bhutia was accompanied by several officials, including Barfung MLA Riksal D. Bhutia, CLC President Narayan G. Gurung, and Zilla Panchayat member Anjana Sharma. The Discover Ravangla-Cho-Dzo Festival Committee, with the support of the Department of Tourism & Civil Aviation, Government of Sikkim, is working hard to make this event a success.
A major highlight of the event is the Chief Minister Volleyball Gold Cup, which will run throughout the festival. Additionally, an Intrastate Volleyball Tournament, which commenced on 2 April, will conclude on 16 April. These sporting events are expected to bring together top teams and talented players, adding to the excitement of the celebrations.
During his inspection, Minister Bhutia emphasized the importance of proper coordination among departments and stakeholders to ensure the festival’s smooth execution. He also assured full support from the Tourism & Civil Aviation Department to make the festival a grand success.
