‘Ready to step down as Congress President for the party’ Sonia Gandhi
The current Interim President of Indian National Congress Sonia Gandhi has written a response letter to her party members stating that she is ready to quit from the post of Indian National Congress ahead of Congress Working Committee (CWC) meet on Monday.
According to sources Sonia Gandhi has sent a formal reply in which she has said that her period as interim president for one year is complete and she would like to step down from the party president’s post and asked others to select a new President of the INC.
Some days back around 20 senior Congress leaders wrote a letter to interim president Sonia Gandhi suggesting a change in the party’s organizational structure which includes Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh who felt that the internal workforce is ill-worked and which has further helped the arch-rival BJP.
