Rebel Shiv Sena leader comes back to Guwahati hotel
Guwahati: Rebel Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde, who left the Radisson Blu hotel on Friday and returned after around three hours.
According to reports, Shinde visited the Kamakhya Temple grounds on Guwahati’s Nilachal Hills.
It was previously stated that Shinde had departed Guwahati for Mumbai.
Eknath Shinde along with at least 40 rebel MLAs has been camping at Radisson Blu Hotel in Guwahati since Wednesday.
They were brought from Surat in BJP-ruled Gujarat to Guwahati in the early hours of Wednesday using a chartered jet.
Meanwhile, Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has called a meeting of all district heads of Shiv Sena.
His party’s head and son, Aaditya Thackeray, arrived at the Sena Bhawan in Mumbai on Friday afternoon to take part in the meeting.
Earlier in the day, Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut issued a challenge to the dissident group earlier in the day, saying, “We are not going to concede defeat… This administration is here to stay.
He had before cautioned Shinde that such conflicts are resolved through the legal system or on the streets. In a statement to reporters, Raut added, “If necessary, our staff will go out onto the highways.”
On Friday, Chief Minister Thackeray tried to alleviate concerns about the future of his political party and the MVA government.
“Despite the prior rebellions the party suffered, it won elections twice. I may have left the chief minister’s official mansion, “Varsha,” but not my resolve, he said.
