Rekha Gupta Sworn in as Delhi’s Chief Minister, Marking BJP’s Return to Power after 26 Years

Gangtok: In a historic ceremony at Ramlila Maidan today, Rekha Gupta took the oath of office as the Chief Minister of Delhi, marking the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) return to power in the national capital after a 26-year gap.

The grand event was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and other senior BJP leaders. Gupta, who becomes the fourth female Chief Minister of Delhi, is also the only woman currently leading a BJP-ruled state.

Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang extended his heartfelt congratulations to Gupta, praising her leadership qualities. “Her inspiring vision, coupled with the esteemed guidance of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji, will undoubtedly pave the way for a new era of progress and prosperity in Delhi,” Tamang stated.

In addition to Gupta, six cabinet ministers took their oath of office: Parvesh Verma (New Delhi), Manjinder Singh Sirsa (Rajouri Garden), Ravindra Kumar Indraj (Bawana), Kapil Mishra (Karawal Nagar), Ashish Sood (Janakpuri), and Pankaj Kumar Singh (Vikaspuri). Speculations suggest that Verma may be appointed as the Deputy Chief Minister.
