Guwahati: Reliance Jio announced the debut of its True 5G network on Friday, covering seven cities—Shillong, Imphal, Aizawl, Agartala, Itanagar, Kohima, and Dimapur—across six states in the Northeast circle.
It claimed that true 5G is currently operational in 191 cities across the nation.
“By December 2023, Jio True 5G services will be made available in every town and taluka of the Northeastern states,” the company said in a statement shared with exchanges on Friday.
The company announced that starting tomorrow, Jio customers in seven cities across six states—Arunachal Pradesh (Itanagar), Manipur (Imphal), Meghalaya (Shillong), Mizoram (Aizawl), Nagaland (Kohima and Dimapur), and Tripura (Agartala)—would be invited to take advantage of the Jio Welcome Offer, which entitles them to unlimited data at speeds of up to 1 Gbps without paying extra.
With its dependable wireless network, healthcare has the potential to save lives in dire situations even in the most remote and remote locations, according to Jio.
In a statement, the company claimed that ground-breaking solutions, including the Jio Community Clinic medical kit and augmented reality-virtual reality (AR-VR)-based healthcare solutions, can improve the quality of healthcare in urban India and help spread quality healthcare infrastructure to the country’s most remote regions.
A Jio spokesperson said, “Jio is proud to announce the launch of True 5G services in all the six states of Northeast Circle from today. This advanced technology will bring significant benefits to the people of the Northeast, particularly in the field of healthcare with its reliable wireless network.”
According to the spokesperson, the network would also benefit a number of industries, including those related to gambling, automation, e-governance, IT, SME and many more.
According to the spokesman, less than four months after its beta introduction, Jio True 5G has already expanded to 191 cities.
