Reowned Anganwadi worker Kalpana Boro passes away

Guwahati: Re-owned Anganwadi worker and Assam Gaurav awardee Kalpana Boro breathed her last at her residence in Rowta under Udalguri district of Assam on Sunday.

Boro was diagnosed with cancer for a long time.

Kalpana Boro is renowned for effectively establishing relationships with the community as an Anganwadi worker. She performed admirably when it came to giving SAM (severe acute malnutrition) infants supplemental nutrition and routine growth monitoring.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has expressed deep grief over the demise of noted Anganwadi worker Kalpana Boro.

In a tweet, the Chief Minister said, Saddened by the demise of dedicated social worker Kalpana Boro. She was recently awarded ‘Asom Gourav’ in recognition of her services to society. My deepest condolences to the bereaved and prayers for deceased. Om Shanti!”

Boro was also instrumental in effectively conducting preschool education for all round development of children.

The state government presented Boro with the “Assam Gaurav Award” in January of this year for her public service.
