Republic Day Honors for Seven Tripura Police Personnel
Northeast Desk, 25th January: In recognition of their exemplary service, seven Tripura Police personnel are set to receive prestigious awards on Republic Day 2024. According to an official order from the Home Ministry, six individuals will be honored with the Medal for Meritorious Service, while one will be bestowed with the President’s Medal for Distinguished Service.
The recipients of the Medal for Meritorious Service include Dipak Kumar Sarkar (Deputy Superintendent of Police, Traffic), Rana Chatterjee (Inspector of Police), Pintu Majumder (Sub-Inspector), Kowstav Bhattacharjee (Subedar), Abdul Sahid (Naib Subedar), and Binada Jamatia (Havildar).
Debabrata Paul, serving as Inspector of Tripura Police, will be the recipient of the esteemed President’s Medal for Distinguished Service.
The Home Ministry’s announcement includes the names of 1,132 personnel from various services, including police, fire service, home guard, civil defence, and correctional service, who will be honored for gallantry and service medals on Republic Day. Among the awardees are two Border Security Force Head Constables, late Sanwala Ram Vishnoi and late Shishu Pal Singh, who will be posthumously recognized with the President’s Medal for Gallantry (PMG). The distinguished individuals are categorized into two for PMG, 275 for Medals for Gallantry (GM), 102 for President’s Medals for Distinguished Service (PSM), and 753 for the Medal for Meritorious Service (MSM).
