Rhonda Vetere to Represent USTM as Global Ambassador

Guwahati: The University of Science and Technology Meghalaya (USTM) has chosen Rhonda Vetere, one of the top 50 most powerful women in technology, author, and global leader from New York, to work with the University globally in order to realise its Mission Global.

On October 3, during the ceremony to lay the cornerstone for the PA Sangma International Medical College and Hospital on the USTM campus, Vetere will join the organisation as its Global Ambassador.

A series of talks with the stakeholders, teachers, and students will be held after her arrival. She will be accompanied by Faisal Masood, Managing Partner, ElementOne Digital Technology & Operations Leader, and Dr. Abdul Wase, Professor of Medicine, Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine, USA.

In this regard, USTM Chancellor Mahbubul Hoque stated that Rhonda Vetere, a pioneer in global technology, will play a catalytic role in transforming USTM into a global university on a variety of fronts, including academic, research and development, outreach, and humanitarian activities for social transformation.

“She will help develop an overall integrated communication strategy through international liaison to promote and enhance visibility of the university and its mission globally, felicitate collaboration with world-class institutions, and provide consultation on organisational structure, governance, and administration,” he said. Aside from encouraging student and teacher exchanges, including placement, she will also organise visits from reputable international figures, including Nobel Laureates.

Rhonda is an engaged leader who has been named one of the most powerful women in technology, a two-time author, and a triathlete. She leads business programmes throughout the globe and mentors children and athletes worldwide in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) through sports.

She has experience working and living abroad, having resided in New York, Hong Kong, Singapore, London, Mumbai, and other parts of India. She has also led teams that included up to 20,000 individuals.

In addition to co-authoring the HP special edition book Enterprise Service Management for Dummies, Vetere is the author of “Grit & Grind.”

Rhonda has received numerous honours for her leadership and sway, including the Stevie Award for Excellence in Transforming Business in 2017 (where she competed against more than 1500 CIOs and CTOs), and recognition as one of the Top 50 Most Powerful Women in Technology by the National Diversity Council in 2019 and 2020.

She has been highlighted in a number of prestigious publications, including SWAAY Magazine, Triathlete Magazine, Forbes, Huffington Post, Thrive, Moneyish, CNBC, Women of Influence, and more.
