Rider Killed On Spot After Car Rams Bike At Assam’s Khetri

Guwahati: A youth lost his life when a motorbike he was riding met with an accident at Ulubam in the Khetri village of Assam on Tuesday.

The incident took place on national highway 37 near Ulubam under the Khetri police station in the Kamrup metro district of Assam today morning.

The victim has been identified as 45-year-old Amrit Das, a resident of Khetri.

The motorcycle rider was travelling from Guwahati to Jagiroad when he was struck from behind by a speeding vehicle travelling in the same way, killing him on the spot.

Because of the force of the incident, the rider was thrown off the two-wheeler and died on the road.

The vehicle that caused the accident was identified as a Hyundai i10 bearing registration numbers AS 01 DS 1339.

Moreover, police said that having caused the accident, the vehicle and its driver went to the Khetri police and admitted to causing the collision.

After that, a police squad arrived at the spot to retrieve the deceased’s body.

According to officials, the body was sent to the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) for a post-mortem.
