Rs 1.4crore seized from Guwahati Railway Station

Guwahati: Railway Police Force (RPF) in Guwahati Railway Station recovered a huge amount of money from Tejas Express on Tuesday.

The RPF seized the money at Gate No 1 around 6 AM.

The money amounting to Rs. 1.4 crore has been recovered from the train which comes from Agartala.

Three others were also detained by the RPF in connection with the event.

The money was about to be transported to New Delhi by the Tejas Express when the accused individuals were apprehended.

According to RPF officials, the accused individuals attempted to influence an RPF officer by offering bribes, which the constable refused. RPF constable Harendra Nath Barman was given a bribe of Rs. 2 lakhs, but he refused it and instead contacted officials, who apprehended the suspects.

The people who brought the money were from Arunachal and were staying in a hotel in Paltan Bazar. They planned to travel to Delhi today while they were being detained.
