Guwahati: In a massive operation, Assam police seized a huge quantity of contraband drugs in Cachar on Friday night.
Five persons have been arrested in connection to the seizure.
Acting on tip-off the Cachar police conducted a search operation and intercepted two trucks which were coming from Mizoram.
During the search, the sleuths recovered 2 lakh Yaba tablets from one truck.
The seized drugs are worth over Rs 60-70 crore in the international market.
Meanwhile, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma lauded the efforts of Assam police for their continued effort to curb the drug menace in the state.
