RSS Hoists National Flag At Headquarters In Nagpur

Guwahati: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat hoisted the national flag at the RSS headquarters in Nagpur, following the nationwide campaign for Har Ghar Tiranga on Saturday.

The world’s largest nationalist organisation had already expressed its support for both the Tri-color festival and the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav commemorating India’s 75th anniversary of independence.

Meanwhile, Nagpur district magistrate R Vimla visited the RSS headquarters and presented Bhagwat with a Tri-colour and other mementos in the presence of RSS leaders Ram Harkare, Rajesh Loya, Jayprakash Gupta, Rabindra Bokare, and others.

In response to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call for every Indian to display the national flag as their profile picture on social media, the RSS replaced its saffron flag with the Tri-colour.

Responding to the Congress and other opposition parties’ criticism of the Sangh’s position on the Tricolour, RSS Prachar Pramukh Sunil Ambekar stated during his recent Guwahati visit that the celebration should not be politicised. RSS has been honouring the sacred day by hoisting the Tricolor in all of its offices.

Following the Centre and State governments’ initiatives to hoist or display the national flag in all government offices, educational institutes, public sector understandings, banks, commercial establishments, and every household from 13 to 15 August to pay tribute to millions of martyrs and freedom fighters of India’s independence movement against British imperialist forces, the Sangh directed its Swayamsevaks across Bharat to actively participate in the unique initiative.
