Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday said that some students are currently trapped in Ukraine as a result of the Russia-Ukraine conflict. “We’ve contacted the Indian Embassy and alerted the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) about the Assam students stranded in Ukraine.” Assam’s chief minister stated today.

Meanwhile, the Indian Embassy in Kyiv has announced that alternate plans are being made for the evacuation of Indian citizens.
The embassy also asked people to keep an eye on the Embassy’s website and social media accounts for updates.

According to reports, around 20,000 Indian students are pursuing higher education at Ukrainian colleges.
