Sachin Tendulkar to Receive BCCI’s Lifetime Achievement Award
Sports: Cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar will be honored with the prestigious C.K. Nayudu Lifetime Achievement Award by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) at its annual gala in Mumbai on February 1.
A source from the BCCI confirmed the news, stating, “Yes, he will be the recipient of the C.K. Nayudu Lifetime Achievement Award for the year 2024.”
Tendulkar, regarded as one of the greatest cricketers of all time, holds an unparalleled record of 664 international appearances, including 200 Test matches and 463 One-Day Internationals (ODIs). He remains the highest run-scorer in both formats, amassing 15,921 runs in Tests and 18,426 in ODIs.
Despite his extensive career, Tendulkar played only one T20 International, making his dominance in the longer formats even more remarkable.
In 2023, the esteemed award was conferred upon former India head coach Ravi Shastri and legendary wicketkeeper Farokh Engineer.
The recognition further cements Tendulkar’s legacy as an icon of Indian and world cricket.
