Saint Claret College Becomes Arunachal Pradesh’s First Autonomous Institution

Arunachal: Saint Claret College, located in Ziro, Arunachal Pradesh, has achieved a historic milestone by becoming the first college in the state to be granted autonomous status.

This recognition underscores the institution’s commitment to providing quality education in alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

Chief Minister Pema Khandu celebrated this achievement, describing it as a “proud milestone for the state.” Taking to his official X handle, he congratulated the college, stating:

“Congratulations to Saint Claret College, #Ziro, to be the first one in Arunachal Pradesh to achieve autonomous status!”

CM Khandu also extended his best wishes for the college’s academic journey, emphasizing its alignment with the NEP 2020’s vision for higher education.

This development comes amid the Chief Minister’s broader vision for Arunachal Pradesh’s growth. At the 12th International Tourism Mart (ITM), held earlier this week in Kaziranga, CM Khandu unveiled an ambitious plan to position Arunachal Pradesh as a premier global tourism destination. Emphasizing sustainable development, he highlighted the state’s unique natural beauty, cultural richness, and adventure opportunities as key elements of its tourism strategy.

The autonomous status of Saint Claret College represents a significant step in Arunachal’s educational progress, promising to enhance its academic offerings and inspire further advancements across the state.
