Salman Khan Applies for Gun License after Receiving Threat Letter
Guwahati: Bollywood actor Salman Khan has sought for a handgun licence for self-defense in light of the threat letter, he received from Lawrence Bishnoi’s group last month.
The actor and the commissioner of the Mumbai Police met at Vivek Phansalkar’s office in south Mumbai on Friday.
According to reports, his visit to the police headquarters was for a required physical verification before the licencing authority as part of the application process for a weapons licence.
Salman Khan has requested a weapon licence from the Mumbai Police following the threat letter for his own protection.
Notably, on June 5, days after Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala was fatally murdered in the Mansa district of Punjab on May 29, Salman Khan and his father Salim Khan got a death threat.
The note was discovered by Salim Khan’s security staff outside their Mumbai residence close to the Bandra Bandstand promenade, where Salim Khan goes for his daily morning jog.
The CP enquired about the threat he had received and informed the actor of his security measures and the Special Branch’s investigation findings.
