Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma will receive the interim report from the Commission of Satra Lands on Friday in Guwahati.
This decision was made by the Assam government at the state cabinet meeting of 2021 and a commission was established to conduct an investigation into the encroachment of Satra (Vaishnavite monasteries) land in the state.
The chair of this commission is former minister Pradip Hazarika.
Assam Satra Mahasabha and other organisations of the state have alleged that a large number of lands belonging to the Satras are being occupied by encroachers.
