Second Round of Talks on Tiprasa Accord Scheduled for December 3rd

Agartala: The second round of crucial talks on the Tiprasa Accord is set to take place on December 3rd in the national capital.

The meeting, convened by the Ministry of Home Affairs, North East Division, will focus on two key issues: the charter of demands submitted by the Tipra Motha Party and a presentation on the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC).

A formal notice issued by the Ministry stated that the Joint Working Group or Committee, formed under the Tripartite Agreement signed on March 2nd, 2024, will reconvene to deliberate on these pressing matters.

Pradyot Kishore Manikya Debbarma, founder of the Tipra Motha and a prominent royal scion, expressed optimism about the upcoming talks. He emphasized the importance of safeguarding the future of the Tiprasa community and prioritizing their agenda over political considerations. Debbarma asserted that the development and well-being of the region and its people should take precedence over the interests of a few individuals.
