The Deputy Commissioner of Police Office has ordered section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) in the West Police district of Guwahati from 7th November. The West Police District of Guwahati covers areas like Bharalumukh, Fatasil Ambari, Gorchuk, Jalukbari, and Azara Police stations.
With section 144 now being imposed more than 5 people or group of people can’t assemble in these areas. The Police has issued the restrictions because some specified and unspecified persons are likely to disturb the normal life in these areas.
