Security Forces Capture Three Insurgents in Manipur’s Tengnoupal District
Northeast Desk, 18th June: Security forces successfully apprehended three individuals linked to valley-based insurgent groups near Shantong, close to Lamlong village in Tengnoupal District, Manipur.
The suspects have been identified as Thiyam Lukhoi Luwang (21) and Keisham Premchand Singh (24) from the KYKL Group, and Inaobi Khundrakpam (20) from the KCP Noyon Group.
In a related effort to address regional security concerns, officials from both Assam and Manipur Police conducted a joint night street meeting at Jiribam along the Assam-Manipur border.
Security operations have been intensified, with regular patrolling and area domination in the riverine stretches of the Barak and Jiri rivers, and in the fringe and vulnerable areas of hill and valley districts.
To ensure the safe movement of essential items, vehicle transit along NH-37 and NH-2 has been secured with strict measures, including providing security convoys through sensitive areas.
