Security Forces Conduct Extensive Operations in Manipur to Safeguard Against Insurgent Activities

Northeast Desk, 13th May: On May 13, security forces in Manipur launched comprehensive search operations and area domination exercises in bordering and vulnerable regions across both hill and valley districts. These proactive measures were aimed at strengthening security and maintaining control over areas susceptible to insurgent activities and other security threats.

To ensure the smooth transportation of essential goods, a total of 42 vehicles were provided with escorts along NH-2, safeguarding their passage through potentially risky zones. Stringent security protocols were implemented, with security convoys deployed along sensitive stretches to safeguard the movement of these vehicles and prevent any disruptions to the supply chain of essential items.

In a concerted effort to bolster security measures, a network of 124 checkpoints, known as Nakas, was strategically established across various districts of Manipur, spanning both hill and valley regions. These checkpoints served as pivotal locations for conducting thorough inspections and monitoring individuals and vehicles passing through.

As a testament to the effectiveness of these operations, law enforcement authorities detained 83 individuals across different districts for various violations, thereby ensuring the enforcement of law and order throughout the state. The proactive stance adopted by security forces underscores their commitment to safeguarding the peace and stability of Manipur, reinforcing efforts to curb insurgent activities and uphold public safety.
