Security Forces Conduct Search Operations and Area Domination Exercises in Manipur

Northeast Desk, 6th May: On May 6, security forces in Manipur executed search operations and area domination exercises across the outskirts and at-risk regions of both hill and valley districts. The operations aimed to bolster security measures and ensure the safety of residents amidst prevailing challenges.

Efforts were made to facilitate the movement of essential items, with 100 vehicles traversing NH-37 and 237 vehicles navigating NH-2 under tight security supervision. Stringent measures were implemented in vulnerable areas, including the deployment of security convoys along sensitive stretches to safeguard the passage of vehicles.

In a proactive stance, 129 checkpoints were established across Manipur, covering diverse districts spanning hill and valley regions. These checkpoints served as crucial checkpoints for monitoring and enforcement activities.

Law enforcement authorities took decisive action against violations, resulting in the detention of 178 individuals across various districts of the state. These measures underscore the commitment of security forces to uphold law and order and ensure the protection of citizens in Manipur.
