Security Forces Intensify Operations in Manipur; Ensure Safe Movement of Essential Supplies

Northeast Desk, 19th August: In an ongoing effort to maintain law and order in Manipur, security forces have conducted extensive search operations and area domination exercises across the fringe and vulnerable areas of the hill and valley districts. These operations are part of a broader strategy to secure the region and prevent any escalation of tensions.

As a result of these efforts, the movement of essential goods along key national highways has been successfully managed. Specifically, 158 vehicles on NH-37 and 40 vehicles on NH-2 were escorted safely, ensuring the continuous supply of necessary items to the region. To facilitate this, strict security measures have been implemented at all vulnerable locations, with security convoys provided in sensitive stretches to guarantee the safe passage of vehicles.

In addition, authorities have intensified security measures across the state by installing 104 Nakas (checkpoints) in various districts, both in the hill and valley regions. These checkpoints have played a crucial role in maintaining order, leading to the detention of 246 individuals for violations across different districts.

The heightened security operations reflect the state’s commitment to maintaining peace and stability, ensuring the safe movement of essential supplies, and enforcing the law across Manipur.
