Security Forces Intensify Operations in Manipur, Seize Improvised Canons

Northeast Desk, 1st July: Security forces in Manipur have ramped up search operations and area domination exercises in the fringe and vulnerable areas of the state’s hill and valley districts, resulting in significant recoveries and strict enforcement measures.

During these operations, three improvised canons, locally known as Pumpi, were seized in Churachandpur District, underscoring the ongoing security concerns in the region.

In addition to these recoveries, security forces facilitated the safe movement of essential items, ensuring the transport of 357 vehicles along NH-2. Enhanced security measures, including convoys in sensitive areas, were implemented to guarantee the free and safe passage of these vehicles.

To further strengthen security, a total of 129 Nakas and checkpoints have been installed across various districts in both hill and valley regions. These measures have led to the detention of 68 individuals for various violations, highlighting the effectiveness of the intensified security efforts.
